Top Music and Audio Apps in Egypt: Q2 2025 Performance

In the second quarter of 2025, the music and audio app market in Egypt saw varying performance trends across leading platforms, according to Sensor Tower data.

Anghami: Play music & Podcasts showed a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $25K by the end of June. Despite a downward trend in downloads throughout the quarter, starting from over 102K in early April and dipping to around 42K mid-June, they rose again to 59K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable, with fluctuations around the 3.5M mark, culminating in 3.6M by quarter's end.

Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a steady flow in downloads, averaging over 230K weekly, and saw a slight revenue increase, reaching approximately $3.8K by the end of June. Active user numbers were strong, consistently staying above 7.8M and peaking at over 8.7M in early June.

SoundCloud: The Music You Love experienced modest revenue growth, reaching $438 by late June. Downloads fluctuated but remained generally stable, averaging around 40K weekly. Active users showed a slight decline from over 9.5M at the start of the quarter to around 9.3M by the end.

StarMaker: Sing Karaoke Songs had varied performance, with revenue peaking at $526 mid-May, followed by a decline. Downloads began at 58K, dropping to 23K mid-quarter before climbing back to 37K by the end. Active users saw a decline from about 480K to 323K.

Apple Music had stable but low revenue figures, staying around $120 weekly. Downloads increased significantly towards the end of the quarter, from 2.5K to 9.6K. Active users showed a decline from 20K in early April to 21K by the end of June.
